Free-Spirited Mayan Destination Wedding Ceremony

This is the start of something beautiful!

We promise; you’ve never seen a wedding or couple as free-spirited as this. Shaleen and Michael’s unique wedding experience truly embodied the spirit of an authentic destination wedding with an off-the-beaten-path, cultural ceremony at the intimate Ana y Jose Charming Hotel in Tulum, Mexico.

The groom donned a ceremonial, lush wreath to match the bride’s natural bouquet as the couple stood barefoot in the sand surrounded by their loved ones all dressed in white. The traditional and meaningful Mayan Ceremony was, without a doubt, the highlight of their Tulum beach wedding celebration.

Wedding designer, Carolina Lavoignet captured the couple’s wild and free spirit with al fresco décor – tropical greenery and fauna paired with simple candles and string lights between the silhouetted palm trees. The real party came when the sun set and the neon DJ booth lit up the night.

Shaleen and Michael treated their guests to freshly grilled local fare, signature Mexican wedding cocktails, a hands-on native ceremony and so much more. The couple and their guests danced until they dropped, cried until they laughed and basked in all the love and warmth there was to go around.
